The Garvan Institute Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) is designed to introduce students to a research laboratory at an early time in their career. The program will encourage students to work in the lab environment and run their own independent research project. The student project can be experimental and based in a laboratory, or analytical involving data analysis and bioinformatics. This program will allow full-time and part-time university students to undertake a casual, paid research placement at the Garvan for a maximum of eight hours per week over six months.The application process is competitive as there are limited spaces.

Applications open on 1 May and close on 30 May.

ELIGIBILITY

At the time of application, applicants must be in the third year of a three year course, or combined science (or related) degree. Students currently in the first two years of their course or that are undertaking Honours are not eligible to apply.
